Summit Dental is a full service dentist office in Asheville for both adults and children.
Initial Oral Exam
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
Composite Resin Fillings
Composite Resins are tooth colored fillings that are light cured and match the teeth so that are undetectable. We also offer Amalgam fillings, which are silver colored. Dr. Rinehart will make sure he answers any questions you may have about pros and cons of Composite Resin and Amalgam fillings
You should have a standard cleaning at least twice a year. A periodontal treatment includes an Adult Prophy (basic cleaning). If it has been over a year since your last cleaning, possible treatment will include either Periodontal Scaling (deeper) or Root Planning and Scaling (requires anesthetic).
Whether you are an athlete or casual sports participant, you should wear a mouth guard to protect your teeth. If you grind your teeth while you sleep, a bite guard will help reduce symptoms of TMJ, headaches and migraines. We custom make mouth guards in both soft and hard materials.
Our Whitening clients average a color change of five to seven shades brighter than their original color, and can see up to twelve shades brighter. (We can also focus on a single tooth that may be darker than the others.) Whitening is safe and works best for people whose teeth are darkened due to age, coffee and tea stains or smoking.
Asheville dentist, Dr. Wilson, offers extraction services when needed.
You can have a new smile with all porcelain crowns or veneers on the anterior (front) teeth. For the posterior (back) teeth we use all porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or all metal/gold.
